My submission for :iconodysseyproject: contest. I designed this to be a front-and-back cover that folds over the spine. As such, I left ample space on the back for synopsis text and whatnot. This is probably the largest project I've done up to date, if only because of the background. My first time trying a cityscape. It's messy but I think it's half-decent for a first go. Explored lots of painting styles. Got lazy on the train. Friggin train...

Amazing piece of art. The background instantly makes me wonder what's the story of it and delve into what happened there before =P

Thank you! :D I wish I knew if they ever published though. Judging by the quality of a lot of the pieces, I'd be fine if they didn't publish, but there were some really good works too. There just wasn't a good amount of participation.

WOW! this is AMAZING!!! I love all the detail put into this piece and the contrast of lightning between the foreground and background >.< I love how it makes the city seem very dark and menacing-like. The little - yet effective lightning on the buildings adds to this effect as well as the gloomy sky >.< The girl looks very pretty and I love the flow of her hair and clothing - it adds movement and life to the picture as well as the speeding train >u< Awesome work here!!!!

You got way to lazy with the train, because if it was more detailed the girl wouldn't look as awkward, and! her left hand's pointer finger looks scary

A too-detailed train would take the focus off the girl on the front cover/stones on the back cover and put it onto the train which is not nearly as important since it needs to cover more surface without falling out of the background. If I really WAS too lazy with the train, I wouldn't have bothered to put intent markings on the sides. I would have made it completely muddled.

The only thing that bothers me, is that the lighting on where she's facing the city could have been just a little bit darker. It feels off in that regard. There's a huge amount of light coming from behind her, hence is why it bothers me.
